New Zealander Bronwen Evans grew up loving books. She’s always indulged her love for story-telling, and is constantly gobbling up movies, books and theatre. Her head is filled with characters and stories, particularly lovers in angst. Is it any wonder she’s a proud romance writer?
She writes both historical and contemporary sexy romances for the modern woman who likes intelligent, spirited heroines, and compassionate alpha heroes. Her debut Regency romance, Invitation to Ruin won the RomCon 2012 Readers Crown Best Historical and was an RT Reviewers’ Choice Nominee Best First Historical 2011. To Dare the Duke of Dangerfield was a FINALIST in the Kindle Book Review Indie Romance Book of the Year 2012. Her first Entangled Publishing Indulgence release is The Reluctant Bride.

I’m both excited and terrified to announce the release of my first contemporary romance, THE RELUCTANT WIFE, an Entangled Publishing Indulgence. It’s exciting because it’s a new direction for me and it’s terrifying because I hope my historical readers like it too!
Why have I written a contemporary romance? Because the characters were living in my head and driving me crazy. The story is also very personal to me. You’ll have to read the book and decide what I mean about that statement. If I tell you, it will spoil the story.
I've set it in one of my favorite countries, Italy. You should all know by now that I love tall, dark and handsome... It's my catchphrase. Who could be more tall, dark and handsome than the Italian, Conte Dante Lombardi?
Match the suave Italian with a young English rose called Abby Taylor and sparks fly. Reserved and a little unsure of herself, she has a core of strength Superman would envy and Dante finds frustrating, captivating and tantalizing...
THE RELUCTANT WIFE:
Abby Taylor walked out on her irresistible husband three years ago. Now she has no choice but to return to Italy to ask him for a favor. To pay for her grandmother's heart operation she needs his money, but it comes with strings attached.Get A Copy: Amazon | B&N
Conte Dante Lombardi has it all—an Italian villa, a successful family business, and a noble title. But he needs a child to carry on his legacy and time is running out. He also hopes to satisfy the desire Abby rouses in him.
As Abby uncovers why he’s in such a hurry for a child, she falls in love with him again … just as she realizes it might be impossible to keep her end of the deal.

Congrats for winning the RonCon 2012 for best historical.I love to read historical romances and your story has two key words that appeals to me: a spirited heroïne and an alpha hero. Thanks for this nice giveaway and I would gladly write a short review of your book "A Reluctant Wife" if I win it. I, honestly, never read any of your books, but would enjoy try one. Merry Christmas , merci for making this international.
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole! Thanks for you interest in Bronwen's book. We are doing a giveaway of a Kindle and NOT the book.
DeleteNo problem Kati! If I win a Kindle, I will add her book for sure!
DeleteSounds like a great book!
ReplyDeletelove English historical books the best but also like most other historicals. Also read many contemporary authors
ReplyDeleteHistorical's are my favorite, but for some reason I have been reading a lot of contemporary romance books. I know for sure I will be buying Bronwen's new release. I have already checked it out on Amazon and $2.99 is a great price! I love all of her books!
ReplyDeleteI'll pretty much read anything with romance in it, whether its a classic, a historical, a paranormal, or even YA...I just love to read :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome giveaway :)
Congrats for To Dare the Duke of Dangerfield~ I love Historicals and that book was one that I wanted to read. The Reluctant Wife also sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Is it harder to write contemporary titled heroes compared to the Historical titled heroes?
I always found it harder to write contemporary titled heroes because they don't have to act like they do during the Historical era.
Hi Kipha
ReplyDeleteI love writing alpha heroes regardless of Regency or contemporary but in historicals you can be a bit more politically incorrect! Heroes are supposed to be more sexist, that's how life was.
I love strong females giving Mr/Lord Hot & Arrogant a run for his money.
ReplyDeleteI love Regency, Highlanders and Shapeshifter romances. The hotter the better.
I like my contemporary romances with just about any trope as long as it has an alpha hero with a heroine that is strong yet vulnerable too with witty banter, some humor, definitely sexy, and lots of heart.
ReplyDeleteDo your contemporary romances have the same kind of heat level as your Regency romances, or is it more on par with a Harlequin Romance? I'm curious if the Indulgence line at Engtangled dictates that, or if it's more to the author's writing style.
Congratulations on the release of your book, Bronwen!
ReplyDeleteI read historical romances exclusively and realized that I had a favorite setting and it's Regency!
Thank you for the great giveaway!
Congrats on the new release, I can't wait to read it. I'm a sucker for reunion stories. They are my absolute favorite.
ReplyDeleteI hope your historical readers love this contemporary as well. Entangled are putting out some great contemporary romances so you're in good company!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy enemies to lovers stories.
ReplyDeleteI love romance between Friends, when they realize they feel more than friendship. Or between Innocent girl/Experienced guy romance. Historical romance is my fav!
ReplyDeleteWould love to read this :)
ReplyDeleteI love the best friends brother falling for the sister :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new release Bronwen, Loved the Wicked Wagers Trilogy and looking forward to reading The Reluctant Wife......
ReplyDeleteAll the very best Bronwen:) My favourite trope would have to be friends to lovers.
ReplyDeleteThen you'll love my March 2013 release, Invitation to Passion. Check out my website for details.
DeleteCongratulations on your new release Bronwen. I love your books, AND historical romance is mt favorite of all.
ReplyDeleteI love historical romance books. But my favorite romance setting is about lovers who for some reason separate for many years but their love is always there. (Ileana A.-rafflecopter)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really good, I like Historical as well as contempary and romantic suspense, thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love a strong alpha. Adore Shelly Laurenston's pack stories. Hot Weres are a fantastic read.
ReplyDeleteKelly Ethan
I LOVE strong, arrogant alpha males - when they fall in love they fall hard and it's wonderful to read about...
DeleteHi everyone - I've finally surfaced from a humid and very HOT New Zealand. The remnants of Cyclone Evan have hit us after sweeping across the Pacific Islands. I've been trying to stay cool and write in 32c heat and about 100% humidity - our homes don't have air-conditioning as we usually don't get this sort of humid weather. But it's slowly cooling and getting back to a normal dry hot summer. Thanks for entering the contest and I hope you enjoy my first contemporary...
ReplyDeleteI like inspirational romance.
ReplyDeleteI love your books. Congrats on winning RomCon best historical in 2012. I read The Reluctant Wife last night and really enjoyed it. My first love is historicals, however I do enjoy contemporary and paranormal too.
ReplyDeleteHi Ora
DeleteThank you for such lovely comments. I think its fun that we read across genres. It introduces us to different characters and authors.
My favorite romance sub genre by far is historical romance =)
ReplyDeleteHere lately my favorite genre has been historical with my favorite trope being second chance at love. With the second chance at love, both the H/h have changed and they have to get to know one another again. Also, they have to work harder to gain the trust of each other. Also, there are more obstacles and history to overcome.
ReplyDeleteThank you for such a wonderful giveaway.
Happy New Year!
Hi Kati and Bronwyn! Bronwyn, I am a big fan of yours. My favorites are historical, contemporary, and suspense. I really enjoy either friends to lovers or couples who have a second chance at love together. Tbanks so much for this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLove your books Bronwyn! I am a big fan of the Regency romance and love the misunderstood alpha male/reformed rake.
ReplyDeleteLove your books Bronwyn! I am a big fan of the Regency romance and love the misunderstood alpha male/reformed rake.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Bronwen! I am so happy for your release and I have told all of my girlfriends about your books. My favorite books to read are Regency and Mythology oriented historicals!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather. I appreciate the great support.
DeleteI love to read paranormals and historicals but my own writing is more contemporary paranormal.... only because I get lost in the historicals and think I would screw it up for others to read.... Bron's are great books that I love to get lost in though
ReplyDeleteMy favorite genres are Historical Romances, PNR, fantasy, and Sci-fi. Recently, I got turned on to Contemporary Romances with Tart by Lauren Dane and The Marriage Bargain by Jennifer Probst so I will be checking out some more reads from this genre. I tended to stick with Historical Romances with European settings but I recently read Wyoming Bride by Joan Johnston which has turned me on to Americana Western Historical settings. Congrats on your awards and thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI like all kinds of romance. When I want something comfortable to read I always reach for England in the 1800's. I don't know if I have a favorite trope.
ReplyDeleteI love all types of romance and have at least one of each in my (huge) collection. Contemporary, historical, erotic, paranormal... As long as it has great characters and a fun storyline I'll read it.
ReplyDeleteI love historical romances and the Regency era is my favorite time period. If I could time travel, I'd like to go back to visit and see what it was like but I wouldn't give up my 21st century conveniences and the rights and freedoms I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading The Reluctant Wife. Sounds like a great story.
Congrats on the new release. This book sounds fantastic. I read almost everything but I love second chances stories along with friends to lovers and enemies to lovers stories.
ReplyDeleteCongrts on the release, love historical romance and all era - regency, victorian etc
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read The Reluctant Wife. It sounds like it's going to pull at my heart strings. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite reading are medievals. I enjoy reading about the Vikings all the way through the Regency too but I have such a deep inner pull for the medieval era.
I am not very picky about the time period as long as the story grabs me I will give anything a try.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy anything and everything with romance in it. I love contemporary, historical and paranormal the most :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite romance trope are when a couple has to pretend to be lovers or husband/wife, and end up falling in love with each other. It's even better if they were previously together.
ReplyDeleteI like contemporary and historical romance. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I read about all time periods, from historicals to futuristic stories, including paranormal, spicier (BDSM, M/M, menages, etc), and much more. As long as it ends with a HEA or HFN ending, I will give it a try if it sounds good :)
ReplyDeleteI love historical romance but also like to read contemporary and paranormal romance for variety. And Italy...wow!! What a wonderful setting. I read heaps of books and are always looking for new authors, so will definitely add your books to my must-read list!!
ReplyDeleteI love historical romance especially Regency with the sexy hero and strong heroine
ReplyDeleteI really like all categories as long as the there is romance with an HEA, but the sub-genre I keep my eye out for is Medieval - there aren't nearly as many set then as Regencies.

Hi ladies
ReplyDeleteI've been busy writing the last few days. Isn't it amazing that we all like different genres but LOVE a fabulous HEA.
My favorite trope is the Marriage of Convenience. So many of my first romance reads were set that way, that it always feels like coming home.
ReplyDeleteI love Friends to Lovers or forbidden romances like best friends sister. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny. I started out as a pure paranormal fan, but recently I can't seem to read anything but Historicals. I do love all romance sub-genres, however.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite genre, currently, is urban fantasy romance.
ReplyDeletei lov every kind of romance esp historical.......jst love invitaton to ruin.....a great novel...
ReplyDeletejst love ur books:*.....sep those alpha heroes....
ReplyDeleteOoo congrats on the newest book Bronwen! My favorites to read are the 2nd chance at getting it right. When the hero/heroine have a past and are finally figuring it all out :) I really like the enemies to lovers too.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
My favorite books are historical & contemporary romance. I also like chic lit, as long as there is a HEA!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to read this book. My first love is historical romance but I pretty much love any kind of romance novel. Thanks!
